How Ancient Sanatan (Hinduism) survived after Polytheistic faiths were extinct worldwide !
Incredible Ancient India (Bharat Sanatan) prevails against all odds.
1. How Hinduism (Sanatan) survived the forces that would kill all major polytheistic faiths of the world ? Every time Hinduism went into a crisis, it is the Vedas that was used to bring the system back up. Hindus built elaborate defenses against all the 3 (Wars / Civil wars, Natural factors and Pandemics). The primary way the scriptures were protected was by having a group of people collectively memorize the entire content of Vedas and then create many, many redundant copies of these hidden across the system.
2. Such a school of Vedic learning is called a Shakha. You can think of it like the Hogwarts without the magic and grand castle. The Shakhas were all independent of each other and built their own code of conduct and some secondary methods of learning such as hand signs. However, by elaborate set of mnemonics and rules, the Vedas they learned was kept mostly consistent with other Shakhas. The people who attended these were primarily Brahmins who were entrusted to both learn and keep alive the Vedas.
